Why is Saint Patrick their patron?

  1. St. Patrick was a Christian missionary and is known as the patron saint of Ireland , together with St. Bridget and St. Columba . It was a preacher and religious of Britain , traditionally considered the introducer of Christianity on the island. Pablo Devesa

  2. Because Patrick was a kid who lived in Brittany occupied by the Romans back in the fifth century At 16 he was captured by Irish pirates and later be sold in Irish land.

    For 6 years he was the servant of a landowner who apparently exercised Druid in his spare time. That allowed the young Patrick soak up the secrets of the many tribal religions brought to bear on the island, at the same time learning Gaelic, the language of the Celts.

    After an appearance in dreams, he managed to escape and return to Britain. There he decided to surrender to Catholicism and once become bishop, he returned to Ireland to spread the gospel.

    He died on March 17, so Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17 each year.
